Dear Delegates,
We are excited to welcome you to the 3rd International Conference and Exhibition for Raw Materials (ICERMs 2024), set to take place from November 2–8, 2024, at the Mahon Theatre in the Prince Albert Public Library. This year’s theme, Discovering the Economic Viability of Manitoba’s Raw Materials, promises an enlightening and engaging experience for professionals, students, and industry leaders alike.
However, we are aware that many of you are anxious due to visa processing delays. We understand the urgency, as participation in this international event is important to fostering the exchange of knowledge and partnerships in the raw materials sector.
As of now, 33 foreign delegates have registered for the conference. Unfortunately, we have received confirmation that 11 visa applications have been denied, and 22 are still pending. We are working tirelessly to address these concerns, and an official request for expedited visa processing has been sent to the relevant authorities. The Mayor of Prince Albert, along with the Premier of Manitoba, has also expressed their support for the event and this emphasizes the importance of ensuring timely attendance by international delegates.
Prime Minister’s Greetings
We are honoured to announce that the Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, has extended formal greetings to the foreign delegates attending ICERMs 2024 November Edition. His message underscores the importance of international cooperation and the significant role that raw materials play in our economies.
The Prime Minister’s greeting is a gesture of recognition for the important contributions that raw materials make globally, and it emphasizes the spirit of collaboration that ICERMs seeks to foster.
Next Steps
To further support those who have been denied visas, we are pleased to offer free conference registration for the April 2025 edition of ICERMs to all affected delegates who will only be responsible for visa-related processing fees. Additionally, we will provide virtual access for this edition, allowing them to participate online. All participants, whether in-person or virtual, will receive a certificate of participation. Virtual attendees will also have the opportunity to engage in the live raw materials contest during the conference.
We are continuing to monitor the visa situation and remain hopeful that our efforts to expedite processing will be successful. If you are still awaiting confirmation, we encourage you to reach out to our team so that we can assist you in any way possible.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve these issues. Your participation is vital to the success of ICERMs 2024 November Edition, and we look forward to seeing you at the event!
